Join us for a Heartwarming Celebration of Grandparents at the Market this Weekend! This weekend,…

Paint the Town Blue at Main Street Market and Downtown
The time is here to celebrate our amazing youth and their athletic commitments. Come downtown this weekend to see what it means to support small-town pride in athletics and the build-up to homecoming next week. Paint the Town Blue is an opportunity to show our support for Junction City High School and the great athletes that are there. The Main Street Market will be busting out the seams with excitement and in a show of our own support. We have a huge line-up of vendors that will be showcasing the best of their products as well as some JC Blue Jay Pride with some very unique Blue Jay Swag for sale.
Non-Profits:
In addition to over 40+ market vendors, there will be two non-profits in attendance. KS High School Athletics Association “whose purpose is to administer a program of interscholastic activities, festivals, clinics and contests among member schools” will be in the midst of high school booths on 8th Street sharing about what they do to help our youth get involved into athletics. Our second non-profit is The Special Olympics/Junction City’s very own Special Olympics Team the JC Pacesetters. They will be next to the Main Street Market Booth. This non-profit aims to help those 8 years and up with intellectual disabilities connect through sports (competitively) and also provides social opportunities. Come see what they have going on in their organization.
Market Eats:
This weekend we have a real special treat. Not one, not two, but three food options to choose from. German Kitchen, Holy Smoking BBQ, and Lazy T Ranch Chuckwagon will be located in the breezeway between Firestone and Central National Bank to help you find your inner foodie. Come hungry! There will be plenty of seating for those needing to sit a spell and get their grub on.
Junk in the Trunk
It’s also the 4th Saturday of the month which means Junk in the Trunk is upon us. Check out the 3rd row of the Market there will be one section of that row dedicated to our community members looking to sell their junk. Seeking some unique finds or antiques? This might be the place to find it. As they say, one man’s trash is another person’s treasure. You might just get lucky and find that diamond in the rough.
Side Walk Sales
Businesses have been encouraged to participate in sidewalk sales downtown this weekend. Shop downtown and stay awhile.
Community Parade and Spirit Rally Timeline:
Check out what’s turning blue downtown. Check out the small-town pride in the windows of some of the local businesses on Washington Street. While you are there pick a spot and wait for the Paint the Town Blue community parade. A wide range of community groups and school groups will be participating in the parade. Wear your Blue Jay Gear and join the masses. A spirit rally will be held on 8th Street next to the Market. 8th Street will be closed from 8 AM until 1:30 PM.
