Visit Junction City Main Street
We have a proud-base for a uniquely American experience. Our greatest asset is our PEOPLE. We love where we live and want you to feel it, too. Complimenting the downtown experience is a walk through Heritage Park where Junction City history is shared. Discover our history through our monuments and memorials. Experience downtown JC through our many events, many of which begin in Heritage Park. Enjoy community worship services, concerts, parades, festivals, and much more.
C.L. Hoover Opera House is our home for arts and music. The Opera House presents top-class performances across a range of artistic genres. The Opera House Fine Arts Academy includes ASTRA, AIM, and private lessons for art and theater. Junction City Little Theater, JC Art Council, and our community band are located in the Opera House allowing our community to be a part of many amazing productions. Live entertainment, family friendly shows, and great music can be appreciated by everyone.
Get off your couch or out of your recliner and head downtown with your family for a Story Walk®. Pete the Cat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and A Charlie Brown Christmas have been enjoyed by families, elementary classrooms, and visitors in 2021. The story changes routinely and Kansas weather does, as well. Dress for the weather and enjoy the outdoors for a fun, educational opportunity.
Staying fit is easy when you step into our historic downtown district: Clarabel’s and Next Step Dance studios, Elite Academy of Martial Arts and JC Taekwondo, Spin On, CrossFit, and Gymtastiks offer activities for all ages.
Tactical challenges can be found at Godfrey’s Shooting Range and Simulation Junction.
Event space rental cannot be overlooked. In addition to the Opera House, meeting spaces are also available at the Masonic Lodge, Godfrey’s Shooting Range and Tactical Supply, and the George Smith Library. Bella’s has an area located in the back of its restaurant which is the perfect size for parties.
Downtown attractions include a historic walking tour, Main Street murals, and the numerous memorials at Heritage Park: Law Enforcement” Memorial, Kansas State Viet Nam Memorial, and the Civil War Arch. Mouse’s Museum is in its infancy stages on 7th Street.
