Hogs & Dogs and Main Street Market
This weekend’s highly anticipated event, Hogs & Dogs, is set to rev up Junction City with a thrilling showcase of motorcycles and a heartfelt initiative to support the Junction City Animal Shelter. As temperatures rise, the community is coming together despite the heat and is showing its support for our furry friends. Let’s dive into the exciting details of this event and see how Junction City is making a difference.
Cruisin’ for a Cause:
Hogs & Dogs, a beloved tradition in Junction City, is making its much-awaited return. The event centers around a unique concept: uniting motorcycle clubs and enthusiasts to display their impressive bikes. Attendees are invited to participate by purchasing raffle tickets to vote for the “People’s Choice” motorcycle. The funds raised through these votes are a direct contribution to the local animal shelter, making this event not just about bikes, but also about giving back to the community.
Beyond the motorcycle showcase, Hogs & Dogs is a true celebration of community spirit. Motorcycle clubs are setting up engaging booths to share their passions and activities. The event location is the grassy lot across from Godfrey’s Shooting Range. With the festivities kicking off at 9:30 AM, attendees are sure to be in for an exciting day ahead.
Supporting Our Furry Friends:
While the Animal Shelter won’t be bringing animals to the Market due to extreme temperatures, their presence will still be felt. They are ready to share valuable information about the shelter, its mission, and the items they need. Additionally, Dare to Dream Photography has set up a pet photo booth (behind their building on Washington St.), providing a fun and safe way to capture memories with your pets. The community is reminded to prioritize the well-being of their pets by providing them with proper protection, water, and shade.
Downtown Eats and Shopping Galore:
Foodies are in for a treat with an array of culinary options. German Kitchen, By Yurii’s Kitchen, and Taste of India are ready to tantalize taste buds with diverse international cuisines. Not only will you satisfy your cravings, but you’ll also contribute to the cause, as 20% of German Kitchen’s proceeds will go to the animal shelter. German Kitchen will be located at Main Street Market (8th and Jefferson), By Yurii’s Kitchen and Taste of India will be located across from Godfreys. Speaking of shopping, Main Street Market boasts a variety of small businesses offering tailor-made products, from hand-sewn goods to uniquely flavored beverages and fresh summer produce.
Many of them have thoughtfully chosen and created products that are tailored to the Hogs and Dogs theme. Check out Kathy Jo with Hitch n’ Stitch for a variety of hand-sewn goods with everything from animal themes to NFL swag. Check out her amazing lunch bags if you are still looking for a special back-to-school item. Pssst…the UFO theme is really neat. Not to mention our vendors such as Mark’s Beer Stand offer delicious and uniquely flavored beverages for thirsty people everywhere. Our produce vendors are certainly not to be forgotten with their wonderful melons and summer fare. Stop by A & H Farm and Flores Farms to get your summer produce fix.
While the summer heat might be intense, Main Street Market has thought of everything. Kids can enjoy light water activities with water guns and toys to keep them refreshed and entertained. Snow Cones are also available for purchase with The Num Num Stand. So don’t miss out on some delicious cool treats. Shaded areas are available for those seeking respite from the sun, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees.
See you at the Market this weekend!
