Happy 4^th of July Eve! Our Market this week will resume normal operations with the Makers Market returning this weekend July 8th. This weekend’s micro-event theme is It’s Fair Time. 4-H will be displaying a variety of projects/activities done by local youth in preparation for the Geary County Free Fair that takes place July 23-27. Bring out the family to learn about the projects and about 4-H. In addition to 4-H, Hildebrand Farms Dairy is sending over their wooden dairy cow for everyone to get a hands-on milking experience.

Our two non-profits this week are United Way Geary County and Broken Wing Ranch Ministries. United Way Geary County provides support and services to 9 agencies in Geary County. Within the community, they work with CASA 8^th Judicial, Crisis Center, Geary County Historical Society STEAM, Girl Scouts, JC Family YMCA (4^th Grade Water Safety AND Operation Wheels), Food Pantry, Kansas Legal Services, Special Olympics/JC Pacesetters, Pawnee Mental Health Services.

United Way Geary County will have information for parents on signing up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for children from birth to 5 years of age. Broken Wing Ranch Ministries’ mission is to “minister both socially and spiritually to the youth and families of the surrounding communities while creating hope for their future.” They do this through youth leadership, social, and daily life skills, as well as providing women with equine therapy, paint therapy, higher-purpose workshops, and bible studies. Through Mentorship, Faith, Empowerment, and Hope they serve youth and women in need.

We will bring you a new food truck this week in addition to La Hacienda on Wheels. Cynthia’s ONE BITE Delight Food Truck will be serving up a variety of Southern soul food dishes. Come to the market and support the small business community and grab a bite to eat while you shop.
