Exploring the Flint Hills at Main Street Market

We have a great weekend planned at the Main Street Market.  On July 15th, the Geary County Conservation District will have the Soil Tunnel trailer at the Market for everyone to learn about the underground natural resources of Kansas. A sand activity will be next to the Main Street Market booth and kids can discover what’s hidden in the sand.

Exciting news! We now accept SNAP/EBT at the Market. We have a token (we have orange tokens) system in place for those wanting to utilize their SNAP/EBT Benefits. Individuals can come to the Main Street Market booth to obtain their tokens using their SNAP/EBT card. Currently, we have two Market vendors accepting SNAP tokens: A&H Farm and Flores Farms. A&H and Flores Farms also accept Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Coupons. The Market also participates in the  Healthy Prescription Program through Live Well Geary County. Did you know there are two farmer’s markets in town? Check out our friends at Geary County Farmers Market on Thursdays at the JC Naz parking lot from 4 to 7 PM.

This week Fresh Start Inc. a non-profit organization will be at the Market sharing with the community about their emergency shelter and how they help the homeless of Geary County. You too can learn more about them by stopping by their booth.

Come support the small business community that makes up the Main Street Market. Are you a small business that needs a place to sell your wares? Check out our website to learn how you can get a spot at the Main Street Market.

Don’t forget about the July Junk in the Trunk event coming up next week. Get signed up to sell your junk or come out as a shopper. Find some treasures or have fun browsing!

See you at the Market!
