There is nothing like enjoying America’s pastime, but even better if you get to meet some real Collegiate Baseball players and learn pitching, throwing, and fielding techniques from them. Come downtown this weekend and check out Main Street Market and while you are there stop by the grassy area across from Godfrey’s to meet some coaches and players from the JC Brigade Collegiate Baseball team. There will be opportunities for kids of all ages to spend time with the coaches and players and learn some baseball moves. This weekend is a home game at Rathert Field at 7:00 PM (Jun 17^th) against the Topeka Jacks.

In addition to baseball, Cheri Olsen with the Junction City Youth Bowling League will be present with a bowling game set up in the Market area with information on the league and how to get signed up. Mobile Mayhem Gel Blaster & Bunker Events will also have a set-up for the kids to enjoy some target shooting using gel blasters right inside the Market.

Our non-profits this week are the Junction City Chapter of the Optimist Club and Delivering Change/Geared Up Dads. The Optimist Club provides hope and positive vision. Optimists bring out the best in youth, communities, and the individual through acts of volunteerism.  Delivering Change/Geared Up Dads is a community-wide collaborative that aims to increase or improve the tools necessary for improving maternal health and decreasing infant morbidity and mortality.

This weekend is also Father’s Day and there are plenty of vendors with wares that would make a great gift for Dad. Come by and check out the Market stalls and find that perfect something.  Those of us at Junction City Main Street Market wish all the Dads out there a Happy Father’s Day!

Kris Hitchman will be back with his guitar at the Market playing and singing a mix of music genres for us all to enjoy! Come out and listen to the music while shopping for Dad!

Don’t forget that from 1 PM – 9 PM Junction City Juneteenth Community Association’s Juneteenth Celebration will be happening at Heritage Park. After stopping by our Market go celebrate with the community for a family fun-filled day.

Junk in the Trunk is only two weeks away on June 24th, so get signed up today! Junk in the Trunk is held on the 4th Saturday of every month during Market season. It will be located closer to the market this month to make it simpler to find and closer to everything going on.
