July 1st Farmers Market flying solo (sans Maker’s Market) for Freedom Fest JC Weekend

With another great weekend Market ahead of us, we wanted to take time to acknowledge that this upcoming weekend and week is a celebration of America and its Independence. Ralph Waldo Emerson stated that “America is another name for opportunity” and it’s opportunity we see every week at the Main Street Market. We want to invite you down this weekend to see that very opportunity that our vendors have created for themselves and for the community. This weekend will be solely our Farmer’s Market with Freedom Fest JC  hosting a vendor market of its own with food trucks and a variety of vendors. Our Farmers Market vendors are bringing out the best in BBQ essentials and goods that will make your gathering the best in the neighborhood.

Come check out A & H Farm, Flores Farms, and Mama’s Pies and Produce for a variety of products including but not limited to fresh ears of corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, jalapenos, and lettuce.  Mama’s Pies and Produce will also be carrying Colorado Cherries this week.

Three new vendor sign-ups this week for the Farmers Market that have great products to add to your 4th of July gathering:

Sundown Rubs and Seasonings is bringing a variety of BBQ rubs, seasonings, sauces, and beef jerky

Cosmic Confections is bringing French Macarons and other baked goods.

Amanda’s Cookie Colony is bringing deep-dish cookies, decorated sugar cookies, and macarons.

To add a little taste to our Market this week we are serving up slices of fresh watermelon at 10:20 AM donated by Flores Farms while supplies last. There will also be popsicles for kids that come by the Market with a parent or guardian (1 per child).

Come chalk it up at the Market with us. We will provide chalk for anyone who would like to chalk up some space in designated areas of the Market.

Don’t forget that Junction City Main Street‘s Freedom on Wheels will be taking place from 9: 30 AM to 11:00 AM on Washington and 8th Streets. Bring your kiddos and whatever wheels they have and come decorate and ride in Independence Day fashion.

But wait there is more:

Junction City Main Street Market in the spirit of the 4th of July, Independence Day weekend will be hosting its first Watermelon Eating Contest and Pie Eating Contest. Both of which vendors from our Market, Flores Farms, and Mama’s Pies and Produce have generously donated watermelon and pie for these contests.

Here’s the deal: You must be 13 and up to participate in the Eating Contests. Must have a parent or guardian if under 18 to participate. Must sign a waiver agreeing to participate. Limited to the first 10 entries for each contest. More details are below or on our Facebook page.

Please extend your stay downtown this weekend and check out Freedom Fest JC with all the amazing entertainment and vendors they have. Freedom Fest gets started at 11 am on Saturday. So stop by the Market to grab your necessities and then go have a blast!

See you at the Market!
