Armed Forces Day at Main Street Market

Junction City Main Street Market and Junction City Geary Country Military Affairs Council are excited to announce their partnership in bringing the community an eventful Armed Forces Day at the Main Street Market on May 20th from 8:30 AM-1:30 PM. This collaboration aims to honor the active military personnel in the community and provide a fun-filled day for all attendees.

Armed Forces Day at the market will feature a display of military vehicles and demonstrations of a Raven drone by military personnel from Fort Riley. Attendees will have the chance to see these impressive displays up close. Additionally, visitors should make sure to stop by the DOD Starbase STEM Kansas booth to learn about their educational and summer programs for elementary students throughout Kansas. The Military Affairs Council of Geary County and the Society of the First Infantry Division will also be present at the event. To top it off, July’s Kitchen will be serving breakfast and lunch items for purchase, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal while taking in exciting activities.

This event also provides an opportunity for the community to support local non-profit organizations. This week, Junction City Little Theater and Serving the Connection: Veteran Organizations Representative will be the featured non-profit organizations. It’s a chance to learn more about the great work they do in the community and how the community can get involved.

The Main Street Market is also excited to announce that they are now accepting Healthy Pathways: Healthy Prescription through Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthy Pathways Kansas and Livewell Geary County. This program allows individuals to redeem healthy prescription coupons at the Main Street Market booth and use them to purchase items from participating farm booths. Look out for the signage at these booths indicating acceptance of coupons. Main Street Market has been accepted as a retailer to accept SNAP at the market and will be rolling out the program in early June. Please stay tuned for more information as it is prepared to be rolled out.
